What Is Membership?

At Valley Ridge Church, membership means belonging—to Christ and to a local family of believers. As a member, you have a voice and a vote in important decisions regarding the life and direction of our church. But more than that, church membership is a mutual commitment: the church commits to encourage and support you in your walk with Christ, and you commit to grow, serve, and walk in fellowship with others. Through accountability, prayer, and shared mission, we grow stronger together.

"Being a member of a local church is a declaration that you’re all in—not just with Jesus, but with His people too."
More about VRC membership

We believe church membership should be rooted in your personal relationship with Jesus and a clear biblical foundation. To become a member at Valley Ridge Church, we ask that you:

  • Have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord
  • Have been baptized by immersion, as a personal and public profession of your faith

Becoming a member is simple—and personal. All it takes is a conversation with one of our pastors or ministers. You can talk with them:

  • During the response time at the close of any Sunday service
  • By phone during the week
  • Or even by email—they're happy to meet you where you are

We’d love to walk alongside you as you take this next step in your faith journey.

Going public with your faith in Jesus

Baptism is a beautiful step of obedience for anyone who has trusted in Jesus. It’s more than a ritual—it’s a meaningful way to say, “I belong to Christ.” When you're baptized, you're following the example and command of Jesus Himself, showing the world that your old life is gone and a new life has begun.

At Valley Ridge, we practice baptism by immersion, which symbolizes being buried with Christ in His death and raised to walk in new life—clean, forgiven, and made new.

Baptism is also a public declaration of your faith. It’s your chance to stand before your church family and say, “Jesus has changed my life.”

Because baptism is such a key part of following Jesus, we ask that everyone who joins our church has been baptized by immersion after making a personal decision to follow Him. If you have questions or are ready to take this step, we’d love to talk with you!
